1. Sing a song of people
Walking fast or slow;
People in the city,
Up and down they go.
People on the side walk,
People on the bus;
People passing, passing,
In back and front of us.
Word-Meanings-Up and down (अप एंड डाउन) from one side to another, इधर-उधर। Side walk (साइड वाक)-footpath, फुटपाथ।
अनुवाद : लोगों का गीत गाओ जो कभी तेज गति से चल रहे हैं तो कभी धीमी गति से। लोग जो नगर में एक ओर से दूसरी ओर आ-जा रहे हैं। लोग जो फुटपाथ पर चल रहे हैं या बसों में, लोग जो हमारे पीछे और सामने से गुजर रहे हैं।

2. People on the subway
Underneath the ground;
People riding taxis

People with their hats on.

अनुवाद : लोग जो ऊँची इमारतों में और नीचे बनी दुकानों में दिख जाते हैं, लोग जो स्वचालित सीढ़ियों से ऊपर और नीचे आते-जाते हैं। लोग जो अकेले चल रहे हैं, लोग जो भीड़ में चल रहे हैं, लोग जो कुछ भी नहीं बोलते, लोग जो जोर-जोर से बातें करते हैं।
