Summary In English
This story is about three friends – the Bubble, the Straw and the Shoe. One day they were passing through a forest. They came near to a river and they did not know how to cross it. Finally, they decided to cross the river with the help of straw. The straw stretched itself from one bank to the other. Shoe tried to cross the river first, the Shoe landed on the straw and broke it. Bubble shook with laughter and burst in a big round.

यह कहानी तीन मित्र-एक बुलबुले, एक नली तथा एक जूते की है। एक दिन वे एक जंगल से गुजर रहे थे। ये एक नदी के पास पहुँचे, किंतु वे इसे पार करना नहीं जानते थे। अंत में उन्होंने नली की सहायता से नदी को पार करने का निर्णय किया। तिनके ने स्वयं को नदी के एक किनारे से दूसरे किनारे तक फैला दिया। जूते ने सबसे पहले पाइप पर चढ़कर नदी को पार करने की कोशिश की, किंतु नली हट गयी। इससे बुलबुला जोर से हँस पड़ा और धमाके की आवाज़ के साथ फूट गया।

Hindi translation of the story

1. Once upon a time there lived a
Bubble, a Straw and a Shoe.
One day they went into the forest.

एक समय की बात है। एक बुलबुला, एक नली तथा
एक जूता एक साथ रहते थे। एक दिन वे जंगल में गए।

Word – Meanings: Bubble (com – a round hollow shaped body formed with liquid, बुलबुला। Straw (स्ट्रॉ) – a dry stalk, नली। Shoe (शू)-the footwear, जूता। Forest (फ़ॉरिस्ट)a large track of trees and wild beasts, जंगल।

2. They came to a river.
They did not know how to cross it.
The Shoe said, “Bubble, let us float on you.”

वे एक नदी के पास गए। उन्हें नदी को पार करना
नहीं आता था। जूते ने कहा-“बुलबुले, तुम अपने ऊपर
बैठकर पार करने दो।”

Word-Meanings: River (रिवर)–a moving water body,नदी Cross (क्रॉस) – go through, पार करना
Word-Meanings: Float ( एलोट)-to move on water, or air बहना

3. “No, Shoe! Let Straw stretch himself
from one bank to the other. Then we can cross the river.”
So, the Straw stretched himself from one bank to the other.

“नहीं, जूते! नली स्वयं को नदी के एक किनारे से दूसरे
किनारे तक फैला देगा। तब हम नदी को पार कर सकते हैं।
तब, नली ने स्वयं को नदी के एक किनारे से दूसरे
किनारे तक विस्तारित कर फैला दिया।

4. When the Shoe jumped on the Straw,
it broke. The Shoe fell into the water
with a loud splash.
The Bubble shook and shook with
laughter and burst with a big bang.

जब जूता नली पर कूदा, तो वह टूट गया। जूता छपाक
की तेज़ ध्वनि के साथ पानी में गिर गया। बुलबुला
हँसते-हँसते डगमग करने लगा और जोर से फट पड़ा।

Word-Meanings: Stretch (स्ट्रेच) – to make longer, लेबा करना फैलाना। Bank (बैंक) – the side of the river near the land, किनारा। Jumped (जंप्ड) – fell on, कूदा। Loud (लाउड) – a big sound, धमाके की आवाज़। Splash (स्प्लेश) – a unique sound of water, पानी की छपाक।
